The Garden

      You would think that living on the farm building a farm would be great and it would produce so much fruit and vegetables.  That's what I thought last year.  I thought I would just till the soil and before I knew it I would have an abundance of vegetables.  I was wrong.  I don't know if it was that I planted late in the season or if it was the depleted soil but last year NOTHING grew.     I was so excited when we found out that we would be moving during the summer.  Finally I could have a garden again.  I bought my seeds and plants, I made a plan, I was ready.  Or so I thought.  Walking to the spot where the garden would be it was overgrown with weeds.  Dandelions and crab grass covered the soil.  No worries, I just need to till it up and it will be amazing things will go smoothly then.  NO!  The tiller pooped out and decided not to work.  UGH!  We borrowed a tiller and got to work. ...

Moving In

      It was almost a year ago that we made the biggest change in our lives.  We left our large neighborhood house and moved our family to a small farm house.  We always said that the land meant more to us then the house.  That became more true as we walked through the door of the farm house that has been in my husband's family for generations.  Walking through the door the first thing we noticed was the musty smell.  A little air freshener and it will be ok.  Right?! Yeah it took a little more elbow grease then just some air freshener.  Now I will be honest I have never liked cleaning.  I am more of a shove it in the drawer and make things look good kinda girl. You know the kind.  Basically my house is a hot mess until I hear someone is coming over and start flinging things across the room to make things look clean.  So here I stand in a kitchen with not appliances, a sink that doesn't work, very little countertop and cab...
